PEUGEOT ANNOUNCES NEW RANGE-TOPPING GT PREMIUM TRIM AND POWERTRAIN ENHANCEMENTS FOR 208 & 2008

PEUGEOT has introduced a new range-topping GT PREMIUM trim level for its 208 and 2008 models, offering customers greater choice and additional features. Alongside this, there are powertrain enhancements to both models, including the introduction of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging on electric versions, as well as an extended best-in-class range for the E-208.
New top-of-the-line trim level
On 208 and 2008, GT PREMIUM is the new top-of-the-range trim. It features a high level of additional specification, enhancing the visual appeal, interior finish, passenger comfort, connectivity, driver assistance and the efficiency of both models.
As an innovator of automotive technology, PEUGEOT’s 208 and 2008 GT PREMIUM boast advanced features, such as the PEUGEOT i-Connect® Advanced infotainment system and Connected 3D Satellite Navigation. The addition of a wireless smartphone charger ensures a seamless power supply and infotainment connectivity at all times.
GT PREMIUM distinguishes itself visually from the GT trim by its Alcantara® ‘Iconium’ interior, while the 2008 also features distinctive 18-inch diamond-cut ‘Black Mist’ alloy wheels. The 208 and 2008 GT PREMIUM also benefit from a range of driving aids as standard, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Positioning Assist, Front Parking Camera and Blind Spot Monitoring with Flankguard sill protection.
The GT PREMIUM Trim marries style with comfort, with the bold ‘Adamite’ green stitching on the Alcantara® ‘Iconium’ interior trim paired with heated front seats and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, complete with lumbar adjustment and a massage function.
The all-electric E-208 and E-2008 GT PREMIUM also feature a heat pump as standard, allowing for more efficient cabin temperature conditioning and thus reducing energy consumption.
Powertrain enhancements
With customers’ freedom of choice in mind, PEUGEOT has announced upgrades to electric and hybrid powertrains across the 208 and 2008 range.
The PEUGEOT E-208 now offers the best electric range in its segment with up to 268 miles (WLTP combined cycle) for the version equipped with the 51kWh battery (48.1kWh useable) and 156hp (115kW) electric motor; an improvement of 14 miles. This development reinforces the model's status as a leader in efficiency.
The standard 7kW and optional 11kW onboard chargers have also been upgraded with bi-directional charging capabilities. This enables the introduction of V2L technology for the first time on the E-208, allowing customers to power devices using energy stored from the vehicle’s traction battery. V2L can provide electricity up to 3kW and 16A, and is available exclusively with the 51kWh powertrain on the E-208 and the 54kWh (50.8kWh useable) battery on the E-2008. To allow V2L charging, an accessory, available from PEUGEOT retailers, can be plugged into the vehicle’s Type 2 socket.
The 208 Hybrid continues to be offered with a choice of two power outputs, but the power has increased from 100hp to 110hp, and from 136hp to 145hp, respectively, reflecting the combined output of the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and the integrated electric motor. The 2008 Hybrid is available exclusively with the 145hp version.
