Our History
We’ve been proud to serve our local communities since 1959. Founded with humble roots in Boston, Lincolnshire, we’ve grown into one of Lincolnshire’s most trusted names in the motor industry. Our family-run dealership is led by Nigel and Tim Taylor, and with the next generation of Taylors ready to continue our legacy, we’re excited for what the future holds.
From our early beginnings in Boston, we’ve expanded to offer trusted services in Skegness, Spalding, and beyond, delivering cars all across the UK. Our dealership group now includes Taylors Peugeot and Taylors Select in Boston, Taylors Vauxhall in Butterwick, and our recently re-branded Taylors Select used car centre in Skegness.
We are incredibly proud of our strong ties to Boston and Skegness, and their communities who have supported us throughout the years. Taylors - where family values matter

The Beginning
Peter and Daphne Taylor started the business in 1959 from a rented workshop in the village of Stickford, some 11 miles north of Boston in Lincolnshire. The landlord denied Peter’s request to cut down some trees to open up the site, so at the suggestion of his Bank Manager, he purchased the site.
Within a few months, business was booming and Peter tried to obtain a motor vehicle franchise, but as he did not have a showroom and could not afford to build one, his requests were turned down.

First Dealer Franchise
In 1960, Peter saw a television program showing rows of Renault Dauphines at Southampton docks awaiting sale, so he hatched a plan. He arranged for a builder to deposit building materials at the Stickford site and invited Renault UK to visit.
He managed to convince them that work was about to start on the showroom and a dealer agreement was signed there and then! This allowed him to obtain the necessary funding from the bank, planning permission was obtained, and the showroom was built.
Peter worked long hours to establish the business in the early days, throughout this time he was supported by his wife Daphne, who also had the task of bringing up six children, four of whom have subsequently joined the business.

The Expansion
Peter purchases a second site in Hagworthingham, joining Stickford in becoming the Taylors group.

Taylors Ford in Skegness
In 1979, Taylors Ford opened its doors in the heart of Skegness.

Taylors Vauxhall in Spalding
Taylors Vauxhall opens its doors in Spalding for the first time in 1981.

Taylors Peugeot in Boston
Peugeot in Boston joined the group in 1984 on Eastwood Road.

Taylors BMW in Boston
Taylors opens the doors to it's new BMW dealership off Sleaford road.

Taylors Peugeot in Pinchbeck
The Taylors group purchases a small Peugeot dealership in Pinchbeck. Our Pinchbeck site closed its doors and consolidated with out Boston dealership in 2005.

Taylors Peugeot moves from Eastwood Road to it's current location on the edge off Boston, off the A1121 (Boardsides)

Taylors Citroen in Boston
Citroen joins Peugeot at our new flagship dealership in Boston.

The Next Generation
Sadly Peter passes in December 2002, but leaves the management of the group in the safe hands of sons Nigel and Tim.

Taylors BMW closes
BMW & Mini leaves the Taylors group, giving focus to existing brands; Peugeot, Ford and Citroen.

Taylors Ford in Boston
In 2010 Ford moves into our Boston premises alongside Peugeot, replacing Citroen.

Peugeot gets a makeover
Peugeot in Boston gets an update to suit Peugeot's new branding.

The Taylors group purchases Thurlby Motors Vauxhall in Butterwick in 2018

Taylors Vauxhall in Spalding closes
Adapting to an ever-changing market, Taylors closes its Spalding dealership to focus on its Boston and Skegness businesses.

Taylors Ford dealership in Boston rebrands as our first dedicated used car dealership in Boston, Select.

Our Taylors Ford dealership rebrands as Select, joining our established used car brand.
