Vauxhall has opened orders for the 2025 Astra Griffin, offering an elevated level of comfort, design and technology at a more accessible price point. Available with electric, hybrid and petrol powertrains, the Griffin adds further choice and value to the Astra line-up.
Available in hatchback and Sports Tourer body styles, the Astra Griffin builds on the already well-equipped Design trim, which it replaces as the new entry-point to the Astra line-up. Exterior updates include a sleek contrasting black roof and tinted rear windows for a more premium appearance, while petrol variants are fitted with stylish 17-inch black diamond-cut alloy wheels instead of the silver 16-inch alloys previously found on Design trim. Electric versions feature 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
At £26,090, the updated Astra Griffin provides drivers with a saving of £2,775 compared to the outgoing Astra Design model, which was priced at £28,865. Despite the lower price, the Astra Griffin offers enhanced equipment as standard, including heated front seats and wireless smartphone charging, features not included as standard on the Design trim. This makes the Griffin not only more affordable but better equipped for everyday comfort and convenience.
Inside, the Astra Griffin provides a more comfortable and connected driving experience. Heated front seats and a heated leather steering wheel add comfort during colder months. Petrol variants benefit from a central console with armrest for improved everyday practicality. An electrochromic frameless rear-view mirror reduces glare at night, while keyless start and a wireless smartphone charging pad add convenience to every journey. A rear-view 180-degree camera provides enhanced visibility when reversing.
Vauxhall’s Pure Panel infotainment system is standard on the Astra Griffin, comprising a 10-inch colour touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster.
The Astra Griffin offers customers a choice of efficient and electrified powertrains. The Astra Electric Griffin features a 54kWh battery and a 156PS electric motor, providing a WLTP range of up to 260 miles on a single charge. For those who prefer a petrol powertrain, the Astra Griffin is available with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 130PS, offered with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox. A hybrid variant is also available, pairing the 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 21kW (28PS) electric motor and an electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission for a combined 145PS.
Prices for the Astra Griffin start from £26,090 on-the-road, establishing it as the new entry point to the Astra range in place of the outgoing Design trim.
The Astra Electric Griffin is priced from £35,005 and offers an affordable entry into Vauxhall’s fully electric Astra line-up. As with all electric Vauxhall models, the Astra Electric Griffin is available with the brand’s Electric All In package. This includes eight years of comprehensive roadside assistance, including emergency charging support, as well as £500 credit which can be used towards an Ohme home wallbox installation, Tesco or Octopus Electroverse charging credit. Customers switching to the Intelligent Octopus GO energy tariff will also receive the equivalent of 10,000 miles of free home charging1. A complimentary six-month subscription to Connect Plus is included, providing access to the full suite of connected services available via Vauxhall Connect.
Alongside the Astra Griffin, the Mokka Griffin and the Corsa YES Edition are also available to order, all offering enhanced specification for a more accessible price. The Mokka Griffin is offered with electric, hybrid and petrol powertrains, with prices starting from £25,740, while the Mokka Electric Griffin starts from £32,505. Meanwhile, the Corsa YES Edition is now available with two new powertrains: the 110PS Hybrid and the 156PS Electric, priced at £22,040 and £28,900 respectively. These join the existing 1.2 100PS 6-speed manual (£19,960) and 136PS Electric (£27,505) powertrains in the YES Edition line-up.
With the launch of the Astra Griffin, Vauxhall continues to make electrified driving more accessible to customers, alongside offering a fully electric version of every car and van model in its line-up.
