Vauxhall is continuing its impressive electrification push in 2025 as it reveals the first glimpse of the new Vauxhall Grandland Electric AWD – the first fully electric model available with all-wheel drive.
Vauxhall, which not only offers an electric variant of every car and van in its model line-up, also recently teased the arrival of fully electric, high-performance GSE models and is now giving Grandland Electric a boost with an all-wheel drive system to enhance the driving experience.

As a member of the Grandland family, the new addition shares the same stunning design of others in the range. Vauxhall’s bold and pure design language sees the Grandland AWD stand out with its signature 3D Vizor front grille combined with the illuminated Griffin logo, which is prominent thanks to Edge Light Technology. The new illuminated logo is also accompanied by the award-winning and industry-leading Intelli-Lux HD headlights. Vauxhall’s most advanced lighting system features more than 50,000 individual elements, delivering outstanding visibility in all conditions without dazzling other drivers.
At the rear, the Grandland Electric AWD features the permanently illuminated “VAUXHALL” lettering. Keeping in line with Vauxhall’s Greenovation approach to sustainability, the name of the car is no longer displayed by chrome lettering – instead, ‘GRANDLAND’ is centrally embossed in the tailgate.
However, Grandland Electric AWD also features exclusive design enhancements that provide an even sportier appearance while further reducing wind resistance. Aerodynamically optimised inserts on the front and rear bumpers, along with its 20-inch two-tone aero wheels, make the Electric AWD the most aerodynamically-efficient Grandland model, with a drag coefficient (Cd) of just 0.278.
Four driving modes, 325PS of power and up to 311 miles of range (WLTP)
Driving performance is equally impressive with the new Grandland Electric AWD featuring a 73kWh usable lithium-ion NMC battery that delivers up to 311 miles (WLTP) of range. When it comes to recharging, only a short stop of 26 minutes is required to charge from 20% to 80% at a rapid charger.
Thanks to the introduction of the new all-wheel drive system, drivers can enjoy enhanced power and performance. The system combines the 213PS front-wheel drive electric motor featured in the standard Grandland Electric and couples it with an additional 112PS electric motor for the rear wheels. Thanks to this combination, Grandland Electric AWD provides a total power output of 325PS, maximum torque of 509Nm and a 0-62mph time of just 6.1 seconds.

For an involved driving experience, Grandland Electric AWD offers four distinct drive modes:
Normal Mode: Designed to optimise daily efficiency, the front motor and wheels are mainly used. The maximum power output is limited to 317PS and maximum torque to 450 Nm. Depending on the driver’s demands, the rear motor and wheels automatically engage. During strong acceleration (kick-down), both motors deliver their full potential.
AWD Mode: The two electric motors operate continuously, with power distributed evenly between all four wheels, providing optimal stability, especially on slippery surfaces. The ESP and traction control systems adopt specific settings to enhance grip. Maximum power and torque are available.
Sport Mode: The two motors operate continuously, with power distributed 60:40 between the front and rear axles for dynamic and efficient performance. Maximum power and torque are available. The steering and accelerator pedal also adopt a specific ‘Sport’ setting, providing increased responsiveness.
Eco Mode: The front motor and wheels are mainly used, maximum power is limited to 215PS and maximum torque to 343Nm. During strong acceleration (kick-down), the rear motor and wheels automatically engage, and both motors deliver their full power. The air conditioning and accelerator pedal also adopt an Eco setting.
Both driving pleasure and comfort are further enhanced by dampers with frequency selective damping technology. This unique technology comes as standard on the Grandland Electric AWD and incorporates a second hydraulic circuit in the damper chamber to mechanically adapt the damping force in relation to the vibration frequency.
Depending on the situation, road surface conditions and driving style, it enables different damping capabilities for comfortable gliding at high frequencies – i.e. short, sharp impacts such as driving over cobblestones or a manhole cover – as well as for a sporty, dynamic driving style with direct contact with the road at low frequencies.
The Grandland reacts even more immediately and directly to any command from the driver and, as is typical for Vauxhall, remains stable when braking, cornering and driving at high speeds on the motorway. The Vauxhall DNA is further emphasised by specific spring, anti-roll bar, steering and ESC tuning.
The introduction of the new Vauxhall Grandland Electric with all-wheel drive takes the line-up to the next level with more power and precision combined with maximum efficiency and safety – all with zero local emissions.
Pricing and specification details will be outlined closer to the UK start of sales date in early Autumn with customer deliveries set to begin from later in the Autumn.
